A highlight of summer, and the chance for local businesses to showcase their food and beverages, the annual Taste of Oakdale hosted by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce is set for Tuesday, Aug. 29.

The Bianchi Community Center at 110 S. Second Ave. will host a variety of booths, all focused on providing attendees with tasty bites and savory sips. There will be microbrews, wines, bakery items, American, Mexican, Italian food and more.

Those attending are also encouraged to take time to cast their vote for the “Best Of…” in a number of different categories. There will be cooking demonstrations offered as well and prize drawings.

The event is designed to showcase Oakdale-based restaurants, caterers and beverage distributors, said Chamber CEO Mary Guardiola, and is supported by a number of local sponsors. Hours for the festive event on Aug. 29 are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Attendees can spend as little or as much time as they wish making stops at the various booths and it’s also a great place to network, officials said, as well as enjoy the great tastes of the city.
