The Knights Ferry Community Club’s meeting was a tasty potluck. Supervisor Bill O’Brien was the speaker. He told about the 30 million dollar decrease in revenue to the county and the State of California taking 7.8 million from the county and that the State is not going to pay for the expensive special election that they said they would pay for. Very tight times in the county. He told of the talks going on about getting rid of the Williamson Act. A lot of area residences are interested in what will happen. He thanked our representatives in Washington for keeping the County Medical Residency Program going. Bill also told why he waited to vote on the new County Animal Shelter, he wouldn’t vote for it unless it included the Spay/Neuter clinic.
