Neighboring areas and their current gas prices include: Stockton - $6.08, down 14.7 cents per gallon from last week’s $6.23; Oakland - $6.29/gallon, down 9.3 cents from $6.39; and San Jose - $6.23, down 13.3 cents per gallon from last week’s $6.36.

“More states saw average gasoline prices decline than rise over the last week, with diesel falling approximately 5 cents per gallon nationally,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “For now, the trend is cautiously in the right direction for motorists, but between hurricane season and continued geopolitical uncertainty, it is far too early to declare the pressure on fuel prices resolved.”

GasBuddy, a PDI Technologies company, is the most authoritative source of station-level fuel pricing data, updating averages 288 times daily from the broadest mix of inputs— spotter reports, direct station integrations, and transactional data.
