Many people remember seeing Jurassic Park for the first time, whether in theaters in 1993 or on the VCR at home. Now, 22 years later, we have a sequel worthy of its predecessor with Jurassic World.

Here are some other sci-fi movie sequels we hope wont disappoint.

Terminator

It began in 1984 with the original Terminator, but the reboot of the science fiction series, Terminator Genisys, presents an alternate timeline we never saw coming. Thats about all that can be said without risking spoilers.

Arnold Schwarzenegger returns, of course, along with Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke. Terminator Genisys is rated PG-13 and hits theaters July 3just in time for the long weekend.

Star Wars

Star Wars first appeared on screen in 1977, and its no surprise it has become one of the greatest sagas in cinema history. Despite the criticism of Episodes I-III, this epic story excites fans of all ages.

After a decade of waiting, we can finally return to a galaxy far, far away with JJ Abrams newest chapter, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There are many rumors surrounding this installment, but the production has been kept fairly secret. So, until December when the movie comes to theaters, we will have to be content with this trailer.

Independence Day

When aliens attacked Earth on-screen in 1996, moviegoers cheered as Will Smith kicked some extraterrestrial butt. Independence Day was a blockbuster hit and, in 2016, the sequel is looking to be a summer sensation.

Independence Day: Resurgence wont see the return of Will Smith, and it will be hard to top Bill Pullmans stirring speech from the first one. However, there is every reason to hope this sequel lives up to its predecessor.

Harry Potter

It might not be science fiction, but the magical world of Harry Potter captured the imagination of book-lovers and movie-lovers alike. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place 70 years before Harry and his fellow classmates attend Hogwarts and follows the adventures of author Newt Scamander.

Eddie Redmayne is set to star in the upcoming spin-off, but little else is known. There is a rumor that some of the movie will take place in the United States at another school for witches and wizards. Well have to wait until November 2016 to find out.
