Guitarist Rodriguez Appearing In Local Benefit Concert

Red Tie Arts and the Central California Art Association are hosting a benefit concert for CCAA and RTA’s Children’s Arts Education Programs. All are welcome and encouraged to join in for an evening of fine music.

One of the world’s leading flamenco guitarists of this generation, award-winning José Antonio Rodríguez, will perform at the Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J St., Modesto on Saturday, Nov. 19. Doors will open at 7 p.m.; the concert starts at 8 p.m.

The program is presented in cooperation with Prof. Bill Macpherson of College of the Canyons, Santa Clarita, CA.

A remarkable guitar player acclaimed for his powerful and evocative renditions of modern contemporary flamenco, Rodriguez has performed on international music festivals sharing the stage with the greatest musicians from around the world, including such artists as Chick Corea, Joan Baez, Paco de Lucía, Arturo Sandoval, John Parr and many more.

He has recorded guitar on countless multi-awarded international albums including “Macarena” (Los del Río), and “No Es Lo Mismo” (Alejandro Sanz). His compositions include works for orchestra, film soundtracks and ballet.
