Oakdale Wrestling Club Taking Sign Ups

The 2021-2022 season is drawing near and for the young grapplers who want to enroll in the Oakdale Wrestling Club program, they can now begin to do so. Wrestlers who are enrolled in first grade through eighth grade are eligible to join the program. The youth wrestling program also welcomes in two new coaches this season in Trevor Williams and Dylan Furtado.

First day of practice is scheduled for Aug. 24 inside the new Oakdale High School wrestling building. Sign-ups begin Aug. 11 and run Aug. 12, Aug. 16 and Aug. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in classroom N-1 at the high school. Practice times are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for wrestler in first grade to sixth grade. Seventh and eighth grade wrestlers will practice from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Cost to join is $150 and the fee includes a shirt and club membership. Each wrestler will be responsible for fundraising and they ask that each wrestler’s parent or guardian work two volunteer shifts. Information on both volunteering and fundraising will be available upon sign-ups.
