Softball Awards Handed Out

As the season came to a close for the Oakdale High School Lady Mustangs softball program, the teams came together for awards night. All three levels of the program gathered along with their families at the Gene Bianchi Center.

Following dinner, head coach Larry Loger introduced the freshman head coach Rick Tussing and brought him to the podium where he gave out awards for his players. Alexia Martin took home Best Offense and Jayden Rau won Best Defense. Harmony Edwards was awarded with Most Improved and Glory Garvin won the Mustang Award.

For the junior varsity, Coach Karla Espinoza presented four awards to her players. Best Offense went to Rachel Haakma, Alexia Aguilar won Best Defense, Laney Lee won Coaches Award and Cortney Koelmans won Most Valuable Player.

For the varsity team, Lexi Webb and Brittany Bye were named Co-Offensive Players of the Year. Grace Green won Defensive Player of the Year, Adrianna Aguilar was named Mustang Award winner and Dakota Grey claimed the Most Improved Player Award.

In Valley Oak League honors, Lexi Webb won Pitcher of the Year, Brittany Bye and Grace Green were each awarded with Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors and Adrianna Aguilar was selected for first team honors.
