Floyd Anthony ‘Till’ Wilberg, 87, died Thursday, Oct. 17 in Oakdale, after a brief illness.

He was the last surviving son of northern Italian immigrants Virginio and Maria Alberti Villiborghi (Wilberg). He was born in San Francisco and grew up during the Great Depression in a loving family of 14 children.

Mr. Wilberg served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and lived in San Francisco most of his life. He worked as a warehouseman for Schlage Lock and Max Sobel Liquors over a period of 40 years.

He also lived in Sebastopol and Hemet, in later years to be near family. He spent his last two months in the caring environment of Tranquility Living Center in Oakdale, once again close to family.

He will be remembered for his love of family, sense of humor, automotive expertise and passion for preparing food. His abiding faith in Jesus Christ is reflected in one of his cherished sayings, “The best is yet to come.”

He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Peggy Wilberg, JoAnn Church, Rory Wilberg, and Jesse Grey; and nieces and nephews, Jeanne Frazier, Martha Patten, Ernie Wilberg, Shirley and Sharon Rodriguez, Robert Rabson, and Liz Seymour and Marie Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginio and Maria Villiborghi; siblings, Eugene Wilberg, Alice (Reuben) Lund, James (Peggy) Wilberg, Ernest (Eunice) Wilberg, Reid Wilberg, Edward Wilberg, Edwin Wilberg, Delma (Frank) Rodriguez, Charles Wilberg, Albert Wilberg, Owen Wilberg, Fred (JoAnn Church) Wilberg and Robert (Rory) Wilberg; and nephews, Clay Wilberg and Ralph Rabson.

A viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Eaton Family Funeral Home, 513 12th St., Modesto. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella.
