Carolyn S. Amerine, 82, died Friday, Nov. 15.

She was born in San Francisco. At the age of three, she moved to the Modesto area where she lived the rest of her life.

She married Richard Amerine in 1950 and had three children, Rick, David and Corinne. They built a life together in Oakdale – raising their family working the cattle ranch and enjoying a great country life.

She was known to influence the voting of her closest family and friends. She was also a member of Progressive Women, Native Daughters, and Emanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to travel. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also treasured spending time with nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Amerine; children, Rick of Fresno, David, and Corinne, both of Modesto; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
