A local Valley Home resident called to voice his concern after witnessing water going for seven days straight on a newly planted almond orchard. He lives at the south end of Valley Home and is very concerned since so many wells in the area are experiencing problems. We appreciate his concern.

Speaking of wells, St. John’s Lutheran Church had their yard sale this past weekend, to help with their well. It was a wonderful success. Look for more fundraisers soon! It is so important to support or hometown, and especially our community churches.

Fourth through eighth grade science teacher, Holly Benkula is looking for volunteers to teach 30 minute enrichment classes to four to eight top Hawk students on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m. while other students get additional help or complete their homework with the teachers. Enrichment classes are simply brief ‘electives’ on subjects/activities which can enhance the learning environment and motivate the students to achieve. If you can help, or know someone who can help, please email Holly at hbenkula@vhjsd.k12.ca.us.
