It seemed more like a party among friends rather than a weekend yard sale! Our Valley Home Community Park was alive with friends, neighbors and folks who quickly became friends! This past Saturday the park played host to a very well-attended yard sale. The event raised much needed funds to maintain the park throughout the year. The day started off with a visit from TV station CW31 from Sacramento. TV reporter ‘Charity’ did a superb job of bringing excitement to what is to become an annual event for the park. The day was made more special with a visit from two of Valley Home’s finest citizens. Mrs. Laura Burghardt and Mr. Tony Taro both spent time with us on Saturday…very special indeed! We would like to say a very big thank you to all who donated items to the sale, and to all those who came and made purchases. Your support made the day very successful. To Michelle and her parents, your thoughtfulness was so greatly appreciated…THANK YOU!

Our sixth graders have returned from Science Camp and all reported having a really good time…the kids shared a cabin with their Knights Ferry friends. We’re sure that years from now, they will still have stories to tell of the fun they all had together.

It was nice to see Julie Haynes out browsing the Valley Home Park yard sale on Saturday. Julie is such fun to be around…and she was so excited when she found the perfect gift!

Justina Hicks took care of properly bringing the flag down after the yard sale was over. It was a joy to witness the respect this young lady had in caring for and storing our flag. Thank you Justina!
