Exciting events coming to Valley Home next week! On Tuesday, August 5th, the fine citizens of Valley Home will meet at the park to celebrate living in this beautiful place called Valley Home! Across the nation the first Tuesday in August is celebrated as “National Night Out.” Folks meet outside their homes with friends and neighbors to visit, make new acquaintances, and renew old friendships. It’s a really important time that we can all meet and share together. We are so blessed to live in such a relatively crime free community. Let’s all meet and celebrate together! CHP Officer Chuck Leon will be opening his CHP car, answering questions, and visiting with everyone in attendance. Supervisor Bill O’Brien will be stopping by to share part of the evening with us. He will be visiting other National Night Out celebrations this year but is looking forward to spending time with everyone here in Valley Home. Valley Home School Superintendent Rolanda and husband Gary will be serving up delicious frosty cold root beer floats to all. We are never sure what time our busy Sheriff Adam Christianson is going to arrive, but he always comes and it’s always a wonderful surprise to see the Sheriff’s crime fighting helicopter come in for landing. We can always count on our Rural firefighters. They protect our homes, our families, and deeply care about the folks they serve. Our Rural firefighters will be sharing one of their life saving engines and will visit with all during the evening. What a special time we will have! The evening will start at 5:30 p.m., you are all invited to bring your favorite dish to share with all. Plates, cups, silverware, and drinks will be provided. If any of you have extra fruits or vegetables you would like to share, we will have an old fashioned fruit stand set up and everyone can help themselves. We send a big thank you to Marg Jackson from the Oakdale Leader for the wonderful pictures she took last year. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Please remember on Saturday, August 9th our park will be the site of a huge yard sale. All proceeds go to maintaining our community park. Donations are much appreciated and arrangements for pick up can be made by calling Sharon at 969-4212. All donations are tax deductible. Remember the park belongs to all of us and if we all pitch in we will be able to maintain it for years to come.
