We are delighted to share the exciting news that all three members of the Valley Home 4-H Public Speaking Project received gold medals at Regional Presentation Day held at Madera High School on April 20th.

This earns them the opportunity to complete at State Presentation Day on May 25 at UC Davis. The three participants are Sam Fletcher with his demonstration "Accuracy is the Best Shot"; Heidi Schaeffe with her prepared speech "Surfs Up"; and Hallie Smith with her prepared speech "Secretariat." All earned gold medals with their presentation and will be competing at the State level in May! We offer a big round of applause to the three on their great presentations, Valley Home is proud of you! We also offer a big thank you to Diane and Jerry Hougland for devoting so much time as project leaders again this year.

Nancy Osmundson reminds us to please make plans to attend our next meeting of the Valley Home Municipal Action Committee (MAC) on Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m. (tonight). The meeting will be held in the Valley Home School Library. We had a great turnout of people from the county at the last meeting and it is hoped that many of you will be there this month to hear their reports. MAC meetings are very informative about what is happening in our community. If you have ever wondered about drunk driving arrests, auto accidents, burglaries, fire stats, etc. this is the place to hear the answers and to ask questions of your own. Everyone is welcome.
