This week’s column is dedicated to the memory of lifelong Valley Home resident Mr. Doug Barnhill. Doug passed away this past week in a farming accident at his Valley Home Ranch. Doug was the son of Estelle and Wallace Barnhill and the husband of Cindy Barnhill. Cindy and Doug were classmates at Valley Home Elementary School, they went to Oakdale High School together, were married and raised their family in Valley Home. Doug was a businessman in Oakdale and also was dedicated to raising the best walnuts possible on his ranch in Valley Home. He was a wonderful family man, a caring friend, a hard worker, a successful businessman, and a very highly respected member of the Valley Home community. Rest in peace Doug, you will be greatly missed!

Funeral services will be held Friday June 14th at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale.
