I hope each of you are having a really good week. Such beautiful days we are enjoying! There isn’t much that can compare to blue skies, a sunny day, crystal clear irrigation water covering a clover pasture … and to be blessed to be in our Valley Home this past week. Valley Home resident Lisa Kuppins Guerrero enjoyed exactly that. She was blessed with a day of sunshine, spring irrigation, blue skies and a day of complete happiness watching daughter Annie Mae splash and enjoy time in the irrigated clover pastures at their family ranch! The family dogs caught gophers and enjoyed running through the irrigation … what a special place we all call home!

We would like to share a very special request from our dear friend Kay Martinelli. Kay has a friend who will turn 105 years old on June 1; her greatest gift would be to receive cards for her birthday. Please if you can, send her a birthday card! Her name is Vanetta Sipe. You may send the card in care of 12348 Orange Blossom Road, Oakdale, CA 95361. Thank you very much.

In this week’s column we are excited to share that Donna and Dennis McCutcheon have harvested their garlic and onions and got them hung up to dry. They are making more room in the garden for that delicious summer okra. Like most of us, it’s always good to have plenty of okra for those summertime evening dinners.

I am excited to report that Valley Home resident Tyler Cooley and his track and field friends … actually more than a dozen of his awesome friends continued on to the Masters Meet. The competition was held at Davis High School in Davis, California. Tyler will graduate from Oakdale High on May 26. Tyler is such an inspiration for our community. Tyler, we love and appreciate everything you stand for. Thank you for being you! God bless you and the entire Oakdale High graduating class of 2023. You are an amazing class; keep reaching for the stars! We send congratulations and best wishes to our Valley Home kindergartners and our Valley Home eighth grade graduation classes as well. Your future is bright … always let your light shine!
