This week we share information about the memorial service for long time Valley Home resident Stan Rieger. Stan’s memorial will be held on February 15th at 11 a.m. at the H-B, in downtown Oakdale. Stan was a graduate of the class of 1978, OHS. He grew up in Valley Home and went there to school, when Mr. Pope was in charge! He went to the Lutheran Church. He was one of the best athletes out of OHS, next to his brother Ron Rieger. His family had strong roots in Valley Home! John Rieger, Stan’s grandfather was a rice farmer, along with his Uncle George Koch. He leaves behind his sister Janice and his brother Ron, he will be sorely missed.

With the beautiful weather we have been enjoying, our thoughts turn to springtime! And although we definitely hope for more rain ... we love the thought of warm days filled with healing sunshine and good health for each of us. Even though we ask God for more rain, the thoughts of those early spring plantings and beautiful summer gardens is very uplifting!
