The first day of school was an exciting day in Valley Home! Students were greeted with open arms and friendly smiles from teachers and staff alike. School Superintendent Tom Price visited with students, making sure their questions were answered and all their needs were met. With Valley Home School being well over 100 years old, students’ first history lesson of the new year began the minute they walked onto campus! At the old campus our students are welcomed to school each day by passing through the most beautiful 100 year old entry way! What a wonderful tribute to our way of life here in Valley Home, strong, built to last, powerful, character, pride, all of these things can be felt by students everyday as they pass through this beautiful grand ‘ol entry way. What an amazing way to start their learning day!

Folks retiring: This year we say a fond farewell to Mrs. Dee Rice, Ms. Susie Poncabare, and Mr. Cory Reid. Dee served Valley Home School for 40 years in several capacities. Dee was always willing to go the extra mile to make our school such a wonderful learning place for our children! One of my favorite Dee stories ... Several years ago, our family received word on a Sunday, due to illness we needed to leave immediately for Montana. Of course school was locked up tight; Dee graciously met us at the school, keys in hand, asked us what books Jenna would need and made sure Jenna had everything she needed to keep up with her school lessons. Thank you Dee from all of us here in Valley Home! Ms. Susie Poncabare was a dedicated school employee, having served for 30 years in various positions! Susie always gives so much of herself to our students, no matter what a child needed Susie was right there to help. Parents, grandparents, and students relied on Susie to keep things running smoothly. She was patient, caring, and very knowledgeable at her job in the school office. Thank you Susie for everything, from our community, and our Valley Home family. Former 7th/8th grade teacher Mr. Cory Reid will be missed greatly. Cory was an extraordinary math teacher. His students were fortunate to have him as their teacher. Many students give Mr. Reid credit for them understanding math and consider him a legend in the math world. We are thankful for you Cory, Valley Home School was blessed to have you as a teacher. Thank you Cory for your great energy and your tremendous knowledge! We wish each of you many "Happy Trails!"
