Happy birthday to the Queen of Valley Home, Laura Berghardt. Best wishes and many returns on your special day!

It’s going to be an exciting evening and we are all invited! This Tuesday, Aug. 1 is "National Night Out" all around the country! This is a special night, meant to encourage folks to come out of our homes and meet our neighbors! With crime on the rise, this special night is important to all communities. Yes, occasionally bad guys visit our community, too. According to the sheriff, our community is stronger and more secure when we all work together to keep bad people out of Valley Home! We are all blessed to live in such a peaceful safe community. Let's work together to keep it that way! Food, drinks, fancy drinks, will be in store for all! Public officials such as CHP, Sheriff, and Fire will be on hand to visit with community members!

Everyone is invited to bring their favorite potluck dish to share if they wish, although not necessary, there will be plenty of yummy food for all! Tasty southern fried chicken, California-style hot dogs, garden fresh vegetables, juicy slices of red, ripe watermelon along with delightful sweets such as coconut cream cake, summertime peach pie, and strawberry cupcakes will be waiting for you! Icy cold waters, rainbow snow cones, frosty root beer, and the fancy drinks inspired from the Hawaiian islands will help cool you throughout the evening.

A game table will be set up for the young folks and horse shoes and volleyball will be available for all. Bring your blanket, quilts or chairs and come join for an evening of fun in Valley Home. Mark your calendar for this Tuesday, Aug. 1. The fun begins at 6 p.m. at our Valley Home Community Park. Everyone is welcome, looking forward to seeing you!

Our 4-H and FFA members offer a huge "Thank You" to everyone who supported them at the Stanislaus County Fair! It was an amazing day this past Saturday as the kids sold their project animals, to each of you who nodded "yes" when the auctioneer cried out, "who will give me..." your support was greatly appreciated by every young person in the ring as they sold their prized fair animal. Thank you.
