Among the many things that Buck Condit, Stanislaus County District 1 Supervisor, appreciates about serving the community is meeting and establishing relationships with the folks that he serves. That ranks high on the list for Condit, who represents Oakdale, Riverbank, Knights Ferry and Valley Home, taking concerns of residents in those areas to the county Board of Supervisors.

Condit, a native of the Central Valley, has dedicated his life to serving others, through his work as a firefighter and now as a County Supervisor.

“It’s just what my family does, you help other people,” said Condit when addressing why he chose to pursue this position after retiring from the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District in 2020.

Condit recently began serving his second term as the Stanislaus County Supervisor for District 1. He continues to make public safety one of his priorities along with ensuring that the local infrastructure remains strong and solid as area communities continue to grow.

When trying to move forward with certain projects, he noted that some of the biggest challenges involve the time that it takes to move something through the necessary channels in government but Condit is confident that, during his second term, various projects that include road improvements, public safety management and community growth will move forward smoothly.

Recently, he has been supporting the efforts of the Valley Home and Knights Ferry communities as they work to resolve their challenges with providing emergency services within their towns. With Condit’s extensive experience in fire and emergency services, he has been attending the bi-weekly meetings in the communities to listen and offer assistance when possible.

Condit stressed that the best thing about his position is working with the people and he looks forward to both building on established relationships and creating new ones, along with completing projects that will serve the people in various capacities. He reiterated that he believes public figures should be accessible to the constituents that they serve and he makes himself available through open office hours and through traveling to the various towns to host face-to-face meetings with people within the District 1 communities of Stanislaus County.
