Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 12-30-20

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 22 through Monday, Dec. 28. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 28

No times listed: Companies completed weekly apparatus/equipment maintenance; Chief Ernst conducted a briefing for C-Shift personnel; Battalion Chief 1 and Battalion Chief 5 attended the weekly command staff meeting.

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 27

7:33 p.m. – Stanislaus Engine 26, Engine 7, Engine 27, Engine 3, Squad 11, Truck 5, Battalion Chief 5 and Battalion Chief 2 responded to a residential working structure fire in the 2100 block of Candlewood Place in the City of Riverbank. Stanislaus Engine 26 arrived to find moderate smoke showing from the attic of a large two-story single-family residence. A second alarm was requested and staged for the incident (Engine 1, Engine 9 and Stanislaus Quint 22). Crews operated in the offensive mode and located the fire in the attic space of the attached garage. The fire is currently under investigation by the FIU.

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 24

2:48 p.m. – Stanislaus and Modesto units responded to reports of a working residential structure fire in the 2000 block of Sierra Street in Riverbank. Crews arrived on scene and found a single story residence with smoke coming from the attic area. The fire was quickly contained to a small area over the living room. No injuries were reported. Red Cross was contacted and assisted with occupants. FIU determined the fire was electrical in cause.

 

TUESDAY, DEC. 22

2:34 p.m. – Engine 29, Engine 28, Engine/Water Tender 27 and Battalion Chief 5 responded to a potential structure fire in the 16000 block of Orange Blossom Road. Engine 29 arrived at scene to find nothing showing and began to investigate. Engine 29 located an electrical issue at the main breaker and isolated the electrical service. The balance of the response was canceled.
