Oakdale Police Department investigators continue to follow up on the early morning Oct. 31 shooting in the 300 block of South Third Avenue that sent a 20-year-old male to an area hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Investigators served a search warrant at 348 S. Third on Nov. 2 and continued to follow leads throughout this past week that led them to a suspect in Modesto late Friday night. Investigators from Oakdale PD working with an apprehension team from Modesto PD arrested Dana Craig Perry, 27, in Modesto late Friday night. Perry was booked into Stanislaus County Jail for alleged violation of Penal Code 664/187 Attempted Murder.

Witnesses to the initial incident reported seeing a white Kia and teal Ford Thunderbird that may have been involved driving north on Third Avenue away from the shooting scene. Oakdale PD is still looking for 32-year-old Michael “Mike” Walker of Oakdale for questioning as a person of interest along with other possible witnesses and suspects.
