League Of Women Voters Hosts Candidate Forum

Learn more about the candidates for the Oakdale Irrigation District at a forum scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., staged in the City Council Chambers in Oakdale.

The League of Women Voters will be hosting the Candidate Forum for the Oakdale Irrigation District races, which feature contests for two posts, those of District 2 and District 5. In District 3, farmer/legislative analyst Tom Orvis is running unopposed.

The race in OID District 2, which includes portions of Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties, features incumbent Herman Doornenbal Jr., a farmer, and challenger Don J. Taro, a ranch owner.

The race for the District 5 seat pits farmer Brad DeBoer against grower Grover Francis.

 

The Candidate Forum is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Oakdale City Council Chambers on North Second Avenue and is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11. Residents are encouraged to come to meet the candidates, ask questions and learn more about the OID candidates and their goals.
