The Stanislaus Council of Governments, StanCOG, is serving as the lead agency for preparing an Environmental Impact Report for the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan and a Sustainable Communities Strategy. The project will address all transportation modes including motor vehicles, transit (commuter and local), rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, aviation systems, goods movement by rail and freight, and more. To aid in preparing the project, StanCOG has scheduled an EIR Scoping Meeting to get input on the scope and content of the environmental analysis that will be included in the draft EIR. Those interested are encouraged to attend the scoping session, set for Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stanislaus Council of Governments office, 1111 I St., Modesto.
