There have been sightings of a Golden Eagle in the Horseshoe/Orange Blossom road area. The Golden Eagle has a wingspan of 7 feet. It eats rabbits and rodents where the Bald Eagle eats fish. If you can get a close look at the Golden Eagle it has feathers down to its toes and the Bald Eagle’s legs are bare. There are more sightings of the Bald Eagle in this area as it eats fish.

Condolences go out to the family of Bill Lemon who died February 11th. Bill lived many years on Horseshoe Road. He was a member of the Knights Ferry Community Church. His wife Sue, daughter Sandra, stepchildren Kathy and Troy, survive him. His service was last Thursday and he is buried in the Knights Ferry Oak Grove Cemetery.

March is marching in and here are some dates for your calendar: March 2 is Breakfast Sunday in the Ferry at the I.O.O.F. Hall from 8 to noon. The museum will also be open. March 6 is the Community Club dessert meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. The spaghetti dinner and the Car Show will be discussed. March 11 is the History and Museum Associates meeting at 9:00 a.m. in Miller’s Hall where the Peddler’s Faire is on the agenda. March 12 is Garden Club at Barbara Shook’s home and Linda Morris will prepare lunch. March 13 is the Knights Ferry School Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the school. March 15 is the Dinner/Auction at the clubhouse put on by the Knights Ferry Parent/Faculty Club. March 22 is the annual Spaghetti Dinner in conjunction with the Civil War reenactment. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. after the last battle. March 27 is the MAC meeting at 7:00 p.m.
