The Knights Ferry Community Club dinner and meeting was well attended. Melanie Fisher spoke on the Salmon Festival and said the salmon count so far this year is 600. Sheriff Adam Christianson and his family were guests as was Birgit Fladager, District Attorney. After the meal, Birgit spoke on her 3½ years in office. With the budget shrinking it is a challenge. The District Attorney’s Office reviews 21,000 cases a year. The best thing they have come up with is the Gang Injunction. In the identified area, a gang member cannot wear colors, associate with other gang members, has a curfew etc. and can be jailed if found doing these. They plan on making another area an injunction area. This has worked well in Southern California. It was a very interesting and informative talk. During the meeting part of the night, the Christmas Dinner (Dec. 3) was planned and the OHS will provide singers again this year.
