The county has canceled a 2009 decision denying a ranchette subdivision on Cemetery and Frymire Roads to comply with a judge’s order after losing in court. A hearing will be May 15 to reconsider plans by Nicholas Honchariw.

Orange Blossom 4-H Reporter Emma Morales would like to thank all of the Rodeo fans that supported the 4-H food booth this year. They had a successful weekend and enjoyed some of the new menu additions. Special thanks go out to all the members who participated and to the sponsors who donated items for the 4-H.

Congratulations go out to Knights Ferry School’s third quarter Renaissance achievers for a perfect 4.0 GPA: Jenna Armario, Jocelyn Burke, Many Loomis, Ray Patton, Shawn Spani, Harrison Ault, Kaeli Sturtevant and Cleo Wilson. Keep up the good work! Next week we’ll publish the students with a 3.0 to 3.9 GPA.

One pair of geese at the Dolling’s pond has hatched their goslings, cute balls of yellow fluff!

Linda Morris, her granddaughter Rhiannon, and Linda’s sister Gail and Gail’s granddaughter Maddy have returned from Disneyland. The girls enjoyed lunch with the Princesses and California Adventure. Linda drove home during the terrible storm on the 6th, with heavy rain and snow on the Grapevine. Linda said it was a white-knuckle trip.

The KFS Box Tops for Education is growing - 4,434 so far!

At the River’s Edge Open Mike is the first Thursday of the month, Karaoke the second and fourth Friday of each month and “Research and Development” play every Wednesday.

Knights Ferry Community Club will meet Thursday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. It is a dessert meeting.

The 21st annual Gold Country Peddler’s Faire is Sunday, April 29th at the U.S. Army Corp Park from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a breakfast at the I.O.O.F. Hall from 8-12 and shuttle service to the booths. Vendors will have antiques and hand made crafts and there will be food booths as well. There usually is something for everyone!
