The Knights Ferry area has been covered in smoke from the fires. The school is limiting the time children are outside on these smoky days.

Knights Ferry School held Student Council elections after a campaign and speeches by the candidates. President is Jude Krick, Vice President is Luke Dickens, Secretary is Sophie Thompson and Treasurer is Nicole Brunker. Have a great year! Interesting that Jude, Luke and Nicole all had fathers that attended Knights Ferry School.

Knights Ferry Garden Club met at the home of Ellen Wearin. The members enjoyed the patio setting. Plans for making Pumpkin Rolls were formulated. After a nice lunch the members got to take home wooded boxes made by Ellen’s husband Bill.

At the Knights Ferry School board meeting they approved the Unaudited Actuals, Gann Limit and Instructional Materials Sufficiency. The next board meeting will be October 15 (change) and the Superintendent of Stanislaus County Schools, Tom Changnon will be the speaker.

Randy and Amanda Russell are arranging special music for Knights Ferry Community Church on the first Sunday of each month using local musicians.

The 5th and 6th graders at KFS are having a Book Drive to collect books for UCSF Children’s Hospital through the 18th.

Seems a water pipe broke in the Ferry last week and the town had no water for a while.
