Vacation Bible School was a big hit with the kids and adults in attendance at the church last week. The theme was the “Tree of Life” and for three days the kids participated in songs, snacks, crafts, and other games and activities concluding with a swim party on the final day. The program had been canceled for a few years, but Heather Wright and Nancy Redden worked to bring the program back to life. Jonna Ohe, Jackie Gazdik, Terri Pouncey, Tina Olsen, Jamie Birdsong, and Charilyn Damigo taught the classes. Amanda and Randy Russell put their special Randy/Mandy touch on the program by songs that were heard all through town. Nancy Redden and crew planned and served tasty snacks and Tasha Sweet and Heather Voortman planned and did crafts with the kids. It was great to see some of the kids who attended Vacation Bible School in the past come back and help too. Aly Blanc was in charge of ordering the incentive prizes, Rita Taylor helped with worship music, Gage Ryland planned recreation and games, Kylie Ryland designed and painted a beautiful banner for everyone in attendance to sign, and Samantha Blanc, Deagan Sweet, and Charlie Birdsong helped with a little bit of everything!

The Odd Fellows pancake breakfast is coming up and the Odd Fellows had to increase the price to $8 starting with the July 2022 breakfast. The price increase is to accommodate the price increase for supplies.

The Community Club’s annual Freedom Picnic is scheduled for Thursday, July 7 at 5pm and everyone is invited. The Club will provide hot dogs and chips, and punch and ask that every family bring a dish to share. If you’re not sure what to bring: bring a side dish if your last name begins with A-M and bring a dessert if your last name begins with N-Z. The picnic is a great social outing for anyone wanting to get out and enjoy company in an air-conditioned building. See you there!
