Knights Ferry lost one of our treasured locals, Miles Shuper on April 15th. Miles’s family is deeply rooted in Knights Ferry and Miles was an icon at the Knights Ferry Car Show. Miles encouraged the Community Club to start the Car Show and through his ideas and Car Show connections, the Club’s largest fundraiser was born. He attended Knights Ferry School and enjoyed his years of retirement in Knights Ferry. You would often see Miles sitting at one of the bars enjoying an iced tea or tooling around town in his black truck! My heart goes out to Kathy Shuper and the rest of the Shuper family.

It was a gorgeous weekend! The weather was perfect for the 50s Roadhouse Classic Car Show and Festival! Orestimba played retro rock n’ roll music and the Bombshell Pin-Up contest winner was announced at 11am. The car show was full of unique cars and a few cars that I recognized had returned from past years! The Car Show proceeds benefit veterans and first responders.

The skies were clear to view the perfect sunrise at the Frymire home on Easter. The Frymire family has held this tradition for years. Many locals have fond memories of eating the Frymire’s famous sticky buns and chocolate dipped fruits on the back porch with one another before leaving to enjoy the rest of the holiday with family. The family still provides hot coffee and donuts to all who attend Sunrise Service. Knights Ferry is lucky to have the Frymire family!

The Peddler’s Faire is quickly approaching! The Peddler’s Faire is Sunday, April 27th from 9am-4pm at the River Park in Knights Ferry. There will be over 100 different arts and crafts, collectables, and antique vendors. The highly anticipated event vendor spots have been sold out for a few weeks now! It is free admission to attend but keep in mind if you park in the Army Corp parking lots, there is a $10 parking fee. The parking fee does not go to the Knights Ferry Museum. The Peddler’s Faire is the Knights Ferry Museum’s largest fundraiser. The museum members work together to preserve the history of Knights Ferry and surrounding areas.
