Don and Gayle Diltz have returned from a 2500-mile trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in their Model A. They joined four other cars from the Oakdale A’s Car Club in going to the International Convention in Vancouver. The cars traveled up Highway 5 and there were only minor problems. The Convention arranged tours and Don and Gayle went to Victoria Island and Buschart Gardens one day, Van Dusen Gardens, Stanley Park (they saw the Olympic Caldron) and Granville Island another day. All the A’s (approximately 400) took a tour to Burnaby Museum and then attended a bar-b-que. A trip up Grouse Mountain on a Tram was another outing. Don saw two grizzly bears and three timber wolves. On the way home, they took the coast route through Oregon and stopped at Gold Beach. It was quite a trip and Gayle says no more long trips!
