Knights Ferry News
Knights Ferry

Thank you to all the volunteers that came out for Love Knights Ferry! The volunteer groups accomplished a lot; the Clubhouse stage trim is freshly painted, the community garden is cleaned up, and the mountains of leaves and rubbish have been cleared all over town, including the oleander tree by the Miller’s Hall building.

Knights Ferry School has been very busy this week! The first graders and Jr. High class visited the Moccasin Creek Trout Hatchery and the third and fourth graders visited Indian Grinding Rock in Pine Grove. The fourth-eighth graders traveled to Gratton Elementary to play competitive games of volleyball and flag football. One of the exceptional attributes of the school is the freedom to learn on offsite field trips! The whole school also enjoys a day of pumpkin decorating and Halloween parade downtown on Tuesday.

The Miller’s Hall museum is finally able to open more Sundays thanks to the new docents who have graciously volunteered their time! Come check out the new exhibit board showing some of the history of the Pumpkin Roll.

It appears that the Shearers have attracted all the rattlesnakes in town! They killed another, this time it was baby.

Most of the time, town is fairly quiet but last weekend, Halloween parties had the town rocking! The Roadhouse had an Elvis impersonator and the Risky Biscuits performed at the Rivers Edge on Saturday night.

Fred Dolling is the new Odd Fellows Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment of California. Congratulations, Fred!
