Thankful for the rain, we have had over 5.5 inches since the season started. Now that the ground has good water content, I hope lighter rain will fall and keep the grass growing. Hoping for a lot of snow in the mountains to recharge the groundwater and to fill the reservoirs this spring.

December is upon us and the Ferry will have a lot of things going on. First is the Christmas Dinner at the clubhouse on December 1st at 6:00 p.m. The club will furnish the ham and turkey and potatoes. The community is asked to bring sides, salads or desserts. Also canned goods and unwrapped gifts for those less fortunate. The Oakdale High School Choir will provide entertainment. This is always a great start to December.
Next in the Ferry is Sunday, December 4th with the Odd Fellows breakfast from 8:00 a.m. ‘til noon. The town parade will gather for starting at the River’s Edge at 11:00 a.m. and step off at noon. All are welcome to participate or watch this “Only in Knights Ferry” event.
The History and Museum Associates meet December 13th at 9:00 a.m. in Miller’s Hall. Nominations of officers will take place. Also they will discuss the progress of the heat and air unit.
Knights Ferry Garden Club will hold their Christmas meeting (short), gift exchange and luncheon at 11:00 a.m. on December 14th (note time change) at the home of Barbara Shook. Please bring an unwrapped gift for a child and one to exchange in the “taking” event.
The Knights Ferry School’s Christmas program will be on Thursday, December 15th. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
