Gary Shook, Lou Dias, Bill Wearin and Ken Morris took at trip to Homer, Alaska to go halibut fishing. Getting an early start, after some frantic hunting for the paperwork, they flew to Anchorage and drove to Homer. They had some rough weather on some days but they caught a lot of halibut. The regulations on halibut fishing let them catch one small and one large fish a day. Ken caught a large halibut and then kept catching large ones he couldn’t keep. If it is on your pole it is your fish, have to go with the regulations. The men had some long days but enjoyed the trip.

The roads along the Stanislaus River have turned into parking lots on the weekends. Some people park wherever they can, stopping in the road sizing up the situation and not looking behind them! The streets in the Ferry are filled with cars also. Some people even trespass through property to get to the river. The trash left behind is terrible.
