Knights Ferry News 10-9-19
Nastasia Sweet

Long-time Knights Ferry resident, Lydia Speedy passed away last week just months after celebrating her 102nd birthday in August. Lydia and her husband, Clarence owned and operated the Knights Ferry Hotel for nearly 30 years since 1950. They boarded many of the workers while they constructed the highway. Lydia supported and kept in touch with the Knights Ferry Museum from her home in Modesto and enjoyed telling stories of her past with friends and family. Our town is grateful to Lydia for a lifetime of contributions of influence and support. Hugs to her family and friends during this time.

Knights Ferry School is gearing up for their jogathon - color run on Friday, October 11, 2019. The kids have been working hard to raise money to reach their monetary goals! One incentive for the entire school is a professional BMX bike rider assembly specifically designed for Kindergarten through 8th grade. The athletes support and promote anti-bullying, saying no to drugs, and being a positive influence! If you are interested in helping the students reach their goals, please contact a student or call the school to see how you can donate!
