Freezing Temperatures Possible Saturday and Sunday
OER frost

A frost advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday, March 26 with temperatures possibly dipping below 30 degrees.

The National Weather Service is predicting that areas below 2000 feet including the Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley and portions of the Carquinez Strait and Delta will see overnight temperatures as low as 28 to 36 degrees this weekend, resulting in frost formation.

The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation, including early budding fruit trees, such as pears, plums and peaches, if left uncovered.

Northerly winds will limit frost formation to be more patchy on Saturday. Coldest temperatures will be on Sunday where frost is expected to be more widespread.
