The Oakdale Farmers Market will kick off Wednesday evening, May 5 for its summer run with more than 25 vendors, both new and returning, for what has become a local staple event for 10 years.

The market shuts down a portion of downtown North Third Avenue every Wednesday, from May to September from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

According to market manager, Linda Mohrmann, this year’s market is shaping up nicely with a number of new vendors, including Tailgate Farms, Reclaimed Faith USA, Seed and Stone Jewelry, and Raising Reagan Designs.

Tailgate Farms, based out of Turlock, will come to the market with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, including watermelon and grapes among other fare.

Reclaimed Faith USA, is a Hughson-based crafter.

Seed and Stone Jewelry is based out of Hilmar, offering wearable seed bead and gemstone jewelry, all handmade in the Central Valley.

Raising Reagan Designs is based out of Oakdale, offering handmade wooden items such as a wine rack and epoxy cutting boards.

Got a favorite vendor from the market? No need to fear, the tried and true returners will still be there to tempt your palate and your pocketbook.

According to Morhmann, the phone has been ringing off the hook with vendors wanting to reserve a spot on the street for this year’s market.

“People are ready to get out there,” Morhmann said.
