Montiero, Hurtgen Exchange Vows

Michael David Montiero and Sandra Marie Hurtgen, both of Sacramento, were united as husband and wife on Sept. 24, 2011.

The couple wed during an afternoon ceremony in Florence, Oregon. Father Roger Fernando of Lady of the Dunes Catholic Church presided over the double ring ceremony. A reception hosting 175 guests followed at the Florence Events Center in Florence, Oregon.

The bride is the daughter of Andy and Jean Hurtgen of Monroe, Oregon. She is a 1993 graduate of Oakdale High School and a 1997 graduate of California State University, Fresno. She is currently employed with the California Exposition and State Fair as an Event Coordinator.

The bride wore a satin halter A-line gown with beaded-lace appliqués and cut out lace hem. The gown had a chapel length train. Her veil was two-tier, fingertip length with a satin cord edge. She carried a bouquet comprised of stargazer lilies and roses. She was given in marriage by her father Andy Hurtgen.

Patti Hurtgen, sister of the bride, of Fort Atkinson, WI was present as Maid of Honor. Attendants were Allison Kasbergen of Tulare, LeeAngela Reid and Lisa McGhee of Sacramento, Catie Kunde of Windsor, Lisa Heidman of Turlock, Kendall Dale of New Castle and Nicole Montiero of Tigard, OR, niece of the bride. The bridal party wore apple red satin ball gowns with side ruching and beading. They carried hand tied bouquets featuring stargazer lilies and roses.

The groom is the son of Ray and Arnetta Montiero of Sacramento. He recently retired from the United States National Guard and is currently a produce clerk for Save Mart.

Standing at his side as Best Man was Juan IaO of Sacramento. Groomsmen were Richey Hurtgen of Monroe, OR, brother of the bride; Robert Montiero, brother of the groom, and Malcolm Burns of Woodland, Craig Ortega, nephew of the groom, Steve Gillespie, Joe Ortega, cousin of the groom, and Jeremy McGhee, all of Sacramento.

The couple spent some time in Rome before taking a nine day Mediterranean Cruise. They will reside in Sacramento.
