Swimming Mustangs Power Past Visiting Kimball Jaguars

On Friday, March 22 the Oakdale High School Mustangs welcomed the Kimball Jaguars in to the Oakdale Aquatic Center and defeated the visitors in a Valley Oak League showdown. Oakdale’s varsity boys won 110-59, the varsity girls won 100-70 and the junior varsity girls won 76-13.

For the varsity boys, the 200 yard medley relay was won by the foursome of Ethan Perry, Aron Cameron, Stash Perry and Chandler Neal with a time of 1:46.32. The four also won the 200 yard freestyle relay. Stash Perry won the 200 yard freestyle event at 1:53.61. Perry also took first in the 100 yard backstroke event with a speedy time of 57.20. Ethan Perry took first in the 200 yard IM at a time of 2:09.12 and was first in the 100 yard butterfly event at 58.59. Chandler Neal took first place in 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.65. Neal followed up with a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle at 51.40. Jordan Van Dyke placed first in the 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 5:39.17.

The varsity girls 200 yard medley relay was led by Hayley Rivera, Hannah Lee, Kayla Peterson and Ashlynn See. The four completed the relay in 2:02.36. The four also took first in the 400 yard freestyle relay event at 4:04.48. Lee took first place in the 200 yard IM at 2:26.86 and first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:14.13. Peterson finished the 50 yard freestyle event at 27.96 for a first place finish. Kassidy Houck took first in the 100 yard butterfly at 1:08.64. Rivera earned a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle event at 51.40. See swam her way to a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke event at 1:06.12. Lee, Houck, Peterson and See also took first in the 200 yard freestyle relay 1:47.62.

Notable junior varsity performance went to Alivia Antinetti, who placed first in the 50 yard freestyle at 31.38. Reagan Oliveira took second in the event at 32.23.

Oakdale returns to the pool on Friday, March 29 when they host Central Catholic. Action is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. inside The Aquatic Center.
