As organizations continue to adjust during the pandemic, a couple of Oakdale youth sports programs recently examined their upcoming seasons.
Oakdale youth football (Stampede) has made changes to its 2020 season. Kickoff, which was originally scheduled for late August, has now been postponed until Jan. 9, 2021. In addition to the postponement of their schedule, the season has been reduced from 10 games to eight. The players will also wear a full face shield in their helmet to help protect them. Stampede is still accepting player signups. For more details follow them on Facebook or log onto their website at www.oakdalestampede.com.
Oakdale Soccer Club’s recreational soccer season, unfortunately, has been cancelled. With T.L. Davis Sports Complex not being available until possibly January, league officials had no choice.
“The decision to cancel the fall season was difficult since we all want our children active and to regain some sense of connection to their friends and community again,” the league said in a statement.
Oakdale Soccer Club is issuing full refunds. For more information, email them at info@oakdalesoccerclub.com.
