Lady Mustang Golfers Capture VOL Tournament

Monday, Aug. 27 the Oakdale High School girls golf team took on the other six Valley Oak League teams in the Valley Oak League Tournament. The 18-hole tournament took place at Dryden Park Golf Course. The Lady Mustangs walked out as champions taking first place with a score of 426, East Union came in second with a score of 491.

On the par 74 course, Taylor Stewart shot an 80 on the day to sit on top of the leaderboard. Madi Blanc turned in an impressive day with a score of 83 with sister Tori Blanc was one stroke behind her. Andrea York shot an 88 for Oakdale and rounding out the day were Makayla Christiansen (91) and Shealyn Hanrahan (97). Taking third place in the tournament was Kimball (519), fourth place Central Catholic (579), fifth place Sierra (625) and Weston Ranch did not finish.

On Thursday afternoon the Oakdale girls defeated Gregori 191-266 in a non-league match played at Oakdale Golf and Country Club. Leading the way for Oakdale was Madi Blanc who shot an even par on the day. Stewart (37), York (38), Christiansen (39) and Allie Denning (46) completed the day for Oakdale.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5 the girls head to Whitney Oaks Golf Course in Rocklin to take on Rocklin in their final non-league contest of the season. Tee time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
