Lady Golfers Sink Rocklin

Oakdale High School girls golf program improved to 4-0 overall on the season following a 210-220 victory over Rocklin. The non-league contest took place on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Whitney Oaks Golf Course. The contest was the closest one this season and Madi Blanc led the team with a score of 37.

Shealyn Hanrahan shot a 42 for Oakdale and Andrea York was one stroke behind her with a 43 on the afternoon. Makayla Christiansen and Tori Blanc each shot a 44 with Lyn Layton shooting a 47 through nine holes to round out the day.

This was the final non-league contest of the season and the Lady Mustangs will turn their attention to the Valley Oak League. Thursday, Sept. 13 the team competes in the second Valley Oak League tournament of the season. This 18-hole event takes place at Van Buskirk Golf Course. Oakdale has played one league contest thus far this season when they knocked off Manteca on Aug. 21. Tournament tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Oakdale will have 12 days off between matches, as they return to the course on Tuesday, Sept. 25 when they travel to Tracy Golf and Country Club for the third Valley Oak League Tournament of the season. Tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
