In the final Football Awards Night of his career, earlier this month in Oakdale, the longtime leader of the Mustangs, head coach Trent Merzon, left, was recognized for his many successes during his tenure with the program. Among those presenting honors was the City of Oakdale, with Mayor Cherilyn Bairos, right, offering a few words while council member Kayleigh Gilbert looks on and shares a smile with Merzon. He officially retired from coaching after completing the 2022 football campaign with the OHS varsity Mustangs.
