Once again the Oakdale Lions Club Children’s Shopping Tour on Dec. 15 was a great success. We were able to serve approximately 280 children and spent nearly $29,000 on them.

On behalf of the Oakdale Lions Club I would like to thank all the chaperones and everyone that donated their time, talent and money. Thanks go to the Rummy Girls for raising money with a Halloween Party, the H-B Saloon for their Christmas Stocking Program, the Sierra 4H for gift wrapping and being Santa’s helpers, K-Mart for their wonderful support and cooperation, the Sportsman’s Club for the use of  their facility, donations of pizza from Mountain Mike’s Pizza, The Safari Pizza, Little Caesars Pizza, Round Table Pizza, Pizza Plus, the Oakdale Leader and oh, yes!, the 40 or so Oakdale Lions Club members that it takes to put this event on.

The Lions Club is grateful to have the continued support of this caring, giving, generous community. Thanks, to all again!
