Syble Hook

Syble Hook, 88, died Thursday, May 19 at the Madrone Hospice House in Yreka.

She was born in Oklahoma but moved to California with her family where she met the love of her life in a cotton field in Bakersfield when he offered to carry her tow sack for her. In addition to being a homemaker, she was retired from seasonal work at Hunt-Wesson in Oakdale.

Mrs. Hook was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hook. Shortly after her passing, her youngest daughter Diana Alexander also died.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Wilson; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Private burial services will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
