Ronnie A. ‘Ron’ Dodd, 71, died Thursday, Jan. 5 at his second home in Thousand Palms after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Emet, Oklahoma to Mary and Arlis Dodd. He grew up in Oakdale and lived in Reno, Nevada for the last 33 years.
Mr. Dodd retired from Nevada Bell in 1993 and began his active retirement as a “snowbird” at that time. He loved his family, RV-ing, playing golf, and shooting the “bull” with his friends. His walking partners were Chloe and Peanut.
He is survived by wife, K. Elaine Dodd; children; Ty L. Dodd, Kelly Dodd, Holly Nelson; stepdaughter, Sarah Lysne; mother, Mary Banducci; siblings, R. Darwin Dodd, Cheryl Roche, Tim Dodd; eight grandchildren; and many friends.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave., Reno, Nev.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
