Roger Lundgren, lifelong resident of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2016 at the age of 76. Roger is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol and their two sons, Roger Jr. and Scott. Roger grew up hunting and fishing with his father Kenneth, who was a local Barber, and his brothers and uncles. His mother Nellie was a Nurse at the nearby Oak Valley Hospital. Roger was employed by Hersheys Chocolate in Oakdale for 38 years, where he worked several different positions and had many friends. He enjoyed horse riding and horsemanship activities. In more recent years after having back surgery, he practiced small wood working projects in his garage. He and his family had been very active in the local Church of the Nazarene in past years, but recently he had been attending the Calvary Chapel in Oakdale.
Arrangements have been made for a viewing at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel on West F Street from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Friday the 11th of November. The Graveside Ceremony will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson on Saturday, November 12th at 11 a.m. Donations in Roger’s name can be made to the charity of your choice.
