Patricia Jean Kesterson, 93, originally of Redwood City, passed away peacefully on December 3 surrounded by her family.
Born in Tacoma, Washington, she was the daughter and fourth child of Raymond and Genevieve Jeffrey. She graduated in 1947 from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California and was an active member of the Sequoia High School Alumni Association.
In October 1947, she married Irving Ernest Kesterson Jr. of Atherton, California and moved to Oakdale, California in 1950. Together, in expedition, they created Golden State Herefords and, later on, Clover Knolls Dairy and enjoyed the ranch for 72 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a dedicated volunteer to a number of organizations including Valley Home Mothers Club, Oakdale Community Food Bank, Cultus Club, Delta Blood Bank, and held officer roles with Modesto Symphony Guild and Modesto Republican Women Federated.
She was an avid traveler and visited six continents and inspired us with her life experiences; was known to dance and sing along to her favorite big band artists; gifted in creativity and enjoyed sewing dresses and costumes along with making handmade cards; and blessed us in her home for countless entertaining and gathering occasions.
She is survived by her children Robert Irving Kesterson (Janice) and Susan Lynn Kesterson, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Irving Ernest Kesterson Jr. and daughter Nancy Jean Dymke.
Private services will be held on January 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Modesto Symphony Guild.
