Melva Louise Wenger-Shively, 88, died Sunday, July 17.
She was born in Versailles, Mo. to Ed and Dot Wenger. She graduated from Modesto High School in 1940, then from Modesto Junior College in 1942.
Mrs. Wenger-Shively opened Shively’s in Oakdale 45 years ago.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra McFarren of Oakdale, Rozetta Hartsfield of Minden, Nev., Tomme Sue Byfield of Campbell, Edwina Scalzi of Naples, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Tom Shively; sisters, Rozetta Brooks, Mary Shively; brother, Edward Wenger; and grandson, Steven Hartsfield.
