Mary Beth Welker, 67 years old, died on Sunday October 23, 2022, after a short illness. She was the seventh child born to Jack and Betty Ottman of Hilmar, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Walter Welker, Sr., son, Jonathon LeAllen, and daughter, Leona Inez; sisters Rosemary Marks and Gabrielle vanderLinden. She is survived by her son Walter Leroy, Jr. of Modesto, siblings Nancy Ottman of Oakdale, Virginia Carlin (Brian) of Lufkin, TX, Joe Ottman (Andraya) of Turlock, Julie Kerber (Dennis) of Oakdale, Ray Ottman (Debi) of Modesto, Bill Ottman (Teresa) of Turlock and Irene Ottman of Santa Cruz, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary graduated from Hilmar High School in 1973 and went to Modesto Junior College where she met her husband Walter. She lived in the Newman and Turlock areas during her married life. She worked at a variety of jobs before working for ConAgra Turkey Company for several decades. Working for Burger King was her last place of employment before her retirement. She lived with her sister, Nancy, in southern California after her husband of 35 years passed away. Then the sisters returned to Stanislaus County choosing to live in Oakdale.

Mary Beth loved her family, loved to tell stories, play bingo, watch movies, crochet and work with ‘plastic canvas’ and ride her tricycle. She was active in her parish of St. Mary’s in Oakdale, particularly the YLI, the Senior Center taking part in their activities and volunteering at the front desk.

Mary Beth will be missed all who enjoyed her unconditional love.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church on Monday, October 31, 2022. Rosary at 9:30 a.m.; Mass at 10 a.m.
