Marcia Irene Sabastia, 67, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24 in Oakdale.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard and Winifred Hamister. She grew up in Los Altos and lived in Oakdale since 1979.

She graduated from Los Altos High School in 1963. She received an Associate in Arts degree in Child Development from Modesto Junior College in 1988.

Mrs. Sabastia worked for the Oakdale school district for 13 years as a teacher’s aide.

She enjoyed soap operas, music from the early 1960s, the Giants and 49ers. She especially loved being with her family and attending family events.

She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Raymond Sabastia; and brothers, Victor and Phil Hamister.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Raymond Pierre Sabastia.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Oak Valley Church, 175 S. Bryan Ave., Oakdale.
